I believe my daughter she was automatically set up with M&M membership when we flew a bmi DC redemption flight.

My question is: if she started to earn miles on her account, could we then redeem her miles for a child ticket for the same flight we were travelling on that had been booked some other way (e.g. we use our bmi DC miles for our tickets, and her M&M miles for her ticket)

On a similar note, does anyone know if it is possible to buy a regular child fare if you are accompanying the child on the same flight, but through a redemption booking? I have one trip in mind where it may make more sense for us to redeem miles/cash for the adult tickets, but to buy a child seat and accumulate miles... not sure if this would work, though.
