I think the rules are simply not stated clearly. The way I interpret the rules is that when making short-haul connections from long-haul flights in F/J, lounge access is allowed upon presenting the boarding stub from the premium-class longhaul flight. Whoever typed up the rules was in a Europe mindset, apparently. I don't see how it would be any different in Asia.

Remember, all OW carriers are expected to have the same lounge access rules for OW passengers (whether granted access by status or class of service). (the major exception of course is BA at MIA!)
