That is incorrect; GPS is specifically allowed while flying above 10,000 ft as stated on their website:

You may use cell phones while the aircraft is on the ground and the boarding door
is open. Once the boarding door is closed upon takeoff, all cell phones must be
turned off. Cell phones may be used once the aircraft has touched down and is
taxiing to the gate.
