The other issue is getting customer service staff in place on the tarmac to direct the passengers and stop people falling into the engines! At the time the HKG flights normally arrive resources are finely balanced anyway so they may have had to wait for extra staff to come on shift. The BAA still have not configured the doors on normal stands yet so that they are not able to be locked open for customer movements, the alarm goes off after 2 minutes and they have to be held open, which is not good.
