We watched 15-20 ground staff wandering around outside the aircraft for the hour - you would have thought that there could even be ONE "emergency" steps available at A or B - couldn't be too much to ask in a multi-billion £ project???
But jumbo sized steps must normally be kept at T4 or T3 and they don't travel very fast, so by the time they wake up a driver and get him from at best T3, I am not surprised it took an hour!. Also they'd need more than a single set of steps to disembark a jumbo load!
