To be fair, if a jetty does become U/S getting steps is a bit of a task as they are all over where T5C will be. Then they need to get a driver out there. It is unfortunate but steps arent supposed to be part of life in T5A and B so they arent resourced there. BAA did buy the cheapest version of everything.
Understood Jumbodriver, but tbh if an organisation doesn't have a "plan B", then it's a poor reflection on management of same ...
We watched 15-20 ground staff wandering around outside the aircraft for the hour - you would have thought that there could even be ONE "emergency" steps available at A or B - couldn't be too much to ask in a multi-billion £ project???
