I've stayed in a lot of Hamptons and have only encountered something like this once. The Hampton on University Dr. in Huntsville, AL has plantation shutters on the windows in the rooms, as opposed to curtains. They provide just as much privacy as opaque blackout curtains, but do let a little more light in at night.

Other than that, every other Hampton I've stayed in has had blackout curtains that provide complete privacy and let very little outside light in at night.
