Change to Excess Baggage rates

There will be an 20% increase in charges for excess baggage with effect from 1st September.

The price of an extra bag on top of passengers' free allowance will increase to

- £25 (from £20) on domestic routes
- £35 (from £30) on short haul routes
- £90 (from £75) on long haul routes

Passengers will now be able to carry up to a maximum of ten pieces of excess baggage.

There are no changes to the sporting items currently allowed free of charge.

Those pre-booking their excess baggage online will continue to benefit from a 20% discount.

In addition, a heavy charge will be applied to all bags weighing between 23kg and 32kg (which remains the maximum allowed) and this will be £25. This becomes effective on 26th November 2008

The changes have been introduced as a response to rising fuel costs.
