Well ya, most people do in fact like to eat at least once every 8-12 hours, so of course the vast majority will buy them because they have no other option.
Maybe, but if no competitors match and bookings go down, they may decide that it isn't worth it. It's not unheard of for airlines to rescind policies that prove deeply unpopular. It will all just depend on how truly unpopular this move becomes with the rest of the flying public and not just those of us on FT.
