If the rumors mention a new iPod touch, then it won't happen

That said, the Touch is due for a refresh, then again, so is the iPod Classic.

Methinks:

iPod and iPod touch will somehow be merged into a new single lineup of devices. There will be an HDD powered Touch player, and a flash version. We'll have choices for 16 and 32. The flash version will be ultra thin and Steve Jobs will call it the thinnest player EVAH! The HDD version will be the size of the current Touch.

The new players will be in store by Christmas.

At the moment there is little incentive for people to buy an iPod classic, since the touch is so much nicer, but if you need a lot of storage, you won't want a touch...

Oh, and I have been right in the past when it comes to Apple rumors
