This property isn't as convenient as the Marriott (to the city centre) but it's
not that far. The tram 71 (i believe) will take you to the stadtring in about
6 or 7 minutes. The other tram line (which stops on the same street as the
hotel) normally goes to the Prater Stern, but currently ends a few stops
before, and you have to take a shuttle bus to reach that destination. I don't
know when the track renovations will be completed.

The "WienerLinien" transport offers good discount fare passes. There are 24,
48, and 72 hour passes, as well as an 8-day pass (not needing to be all used
consecutively). but the "wochenkarte" is valid from Monday morning unitl
Sunday evening (3am Monday actually) and costs only 14EUR. It's a really
great value but is validity period specific, so it's not that great if you stay
is from Thursday to Monday, so to speak.

Vienna is an incredible city, enjoy it!

P.S. -- Got to the Rathaus Platz at night (western end of the stadtring).
The building is lit up and looks incredible (better than in daylight).
Wow...Thanks for the detailed info. I was aware that this wasn't the closest to the city center, but it looked as though it has some character!

I'm going to print the thread and put it in my Vienna folder!!
