Thank you very much. I've continued looking at my options and going into Jacksonville is exactly what I had come up with, too.

I fly from the west coast to north/central FL through MCO as I can get on the transcon that lands me before 6pm usually. Otherwise you spend all day connecting (up to 2 connections) and in the summer misconnects happen due to weather or whatever. JAX is a good alternate as it's a straight 2.5 hour shot on i-10 and if you go through ORD or IAD then you can get straight in by 5-7pm.
