i'm about to take an LHR-YUL-LHR trip in Y (before the 10k air canada bonus kicks in, so that promo is irrelevant), which will add 6k to my flown miles.

currently, i have 30k in TG royal orchid, 1k in BD diamond club and nothing in AC aeroplan.

i'm LON-based and all of my flights are in Y. i expect most of my flown miles in the coming year to come from flights to and from YYZ and HKG, but not enough to earn gold with anyone.

i'm thinking about adding the 6k to royal orchid to give enough for an up-to-2,000-mile award that costs 35k. what should i do with miles from future flights, continue to add to royal orchid for a better award or switch program? i believe some of my royal orchid miles will expire at the end of 2009.
