I guess my point is that I would accept weather as an excuse where other airlines are consistent - in this case CX flew but AC did not - IMO simply because the inconvenience of a possible diversion would be bigger on AC than on CX because of their HKG hub.

If the airport (in this case HKIA is still permitting take-offs then it isn't a weather issue - is it?).
