I think the argument holds and you're suffering from MLL cubicle claustrophobia.

In any case, I don't think there's anything you can do with AC. They'll just quote the usual "pax safety comes first".

To be fair, CX is HK-based so there could be a little positioning thing involved. i.e. CX planes need to be in HK for home-base servicing etc. AC planes are already "home" when they're here.
