Then there are the delis: love Murphys Deli mufalettas, Jason's Deli, and McAllister's Deli. For my money, Carneghie Deli in NYC is the best - their hot pastrami on rye is to-die-for.
As for Carnegie Deli NYC: I'm partial to tongue myself and the beef tongue sandwich I had there (washed down with a Cel-Ray) was huge and sublime. But what the $$$? Very, very pricey.
On my last visit: Waiter drops the check, color drains from my face. Waiter asks, "So you should want anything else?" I say, "Yeah, a credit line to pay for this sandwich." Waiter shrugs and moves on
