Look, I understand that issue and I'd certainly hate to see someone pop up and harass a CSR saying "I heard this other CSR searched a plane at midnight for some person's wallet!" as an expectation of service. ANd I'm glad that no totally cynical post saying "They wouldn't have done it for a mere 1K/1P/2P/nobody" member either. Incidently this is not "my" story. I'm about as far from UGS as they come, but I did want to share a nice story. Clearly UA did too because that went to all employees. The point I am trying to make is that in these days of cutbacks, lack of service and other perceived lack of service by the airlines (witness the recent thread about UGS perks being not worth it - which while I did not read it, I noted the subject) that these two UA employees went out of their way, definately in an unusual way, to help a customer in need. And as many have posted in response to this thread, clearly we need some good news stories to remind us that good stuff does still happen while everything else goes, or appears to go, down the toilet.
Also I personally wanted to remind everyone here that UA does have great employees.. some who post here and we know of (Jana, Bear96, Basenji, aaron, etc) and others that read quietly (I know of at least one or two personally).
And finally, it so contrasts with a report I had from a friend just the other day flying one of UA's opposition out of ORD wherein he sat in F and the F/A spread himself out over 2 F seats, read a magazine and paid his bills inflight.....
