Your last comment appears to suggest I am unsympathetic to the people in Madrid, a city which is very close to my heart. I don't think this is a very appropriate thread to start an argument, so I shan't comment further on that.

I was making the comment merely to provide information. The thread title was about the status of the airport, so people might reasonably read the thread looking for such information.
