I was not sure where to post this, so moderators please move if inappropriate. I chose the AC forum since the last flight was on AC.
My mother recently flew KHI (PK) x/DXB (LX) x/ZRH (LX operated by AC) YYZ. She checked in 2 pieces at KHI checked in all the way to Toronto. Each bag weighed 32kg. When she landed in Toronto, one of the bags was severely damaged. It was ripped open with more than half the stuff missing (now weighs 13kg) and had big red tape across it saying "DAMAGED RETURN TO ZURICH." I am not sure what that means, but my guess is that it means it arrived in Zurich damaged. Presumably she is entitled to claim $20US / kilo of the bag lost but we are not sure how she would claim this. AC (at the airport) said to chase LX, LX has said to chase PK, and PK has said to chase AC.
Ticket was on LX stock if that matters.
