Due to a series of schedule changes by Delta over several months, my wife and I have a 35 minute connection in ATL on Labor Day in the late afternoon. To make matters worse, we are arriving in ATL on Delta Connection, and heading on to FLL in a mainline jet.
I called SMS, to see if I could be moved to a later connecting flight, but was told that although there is availability on later flights, 35 minutes is a legal connection, so they were unwilling to make a change.
My experience is that such a tight connection is a recipe for disaster, and the current availability on later flights may well disappear on the holiday.
My wife absolutely needs to be at work Tuesday.
I need advice on what to do. I am wondering if I should buy Mrs. Dickinson a refundable one-way ticket from ATL to FLL as a back-up.
Or do you think this connection will be OK?
