Hey, YOU asked for our opinions, remember that.

How long has it been since your stays? Now, had you read the statement at checkout, you would have the right to be upset and you could then ask the clerk or better yet, the Front Office manager to investigate how a phone call could appear on your bill when you were not in the room. This could be an ongoing problem that gets nipped in the bud, by alerting management at check out.

You have to take some responsibility. Now, let me ask you this, say you are in room 401 and the hotel inadvertently credited a portion of your stay instead of room 701, would you be "upset" and ask for compensation???

I can see that this thread is going to be the "hot topic of the day".
