If this was the case, I personally wouldn't even be staying in the Sukhumvit area of Downtown Bangkok - I'd be on the Riverside. Frankly, I assume that guest friendliness is the main reason most folks would choose to be in Sukhumvit if they were consciously aware of the character of the neighborhood that their hotel was in.
