well I always wonder this same questions about Jet Airways?

Why do they have their planes sitting in Newark, JFK, Toronto etc. for 8+ hours?

Why not fly somewhere? Say land in Newark/JFK at 11:30am, fly to Montreal/ Toronto etc. and be back by 8pm, for their 9pm departure to BRU.
