I'd keep calling till you get an agent that would be willing to move it without a problem - I'd say a good deal of DL agents (especially SMS ones...) know that 35 minutes in ATL can be a disaster, and should be willing to rebook you. I've rebooked 35-40 minute connections several times to longer ones.
