:Flame Suit On:
Maybe it's time that the FAA realizes that the safety video doesn't do anything and that 99% of air passengers know how to use their seat belts and most people know to get the heck out of a plane... and in a real emergency, they forget what they've been told in a video anyway... and they finally decide to scrap the safety announcement altogether. And if a mask falls from above me, no matter what they say, if I don't see any inflation whatsoever, I will be freaking out that there is no oxygen flowing to it (until I pass out, that is).
Anyway, I understand the need for some education, but maybe they can skip how the seatbelt works and even how white lights lead to red lights... maybe they should say something like "look around, find the nearest two exits and remember their location. Keep stuff stowed so it doesn't fly around and hurt someone else. And do what we say... or else!"
