As far as UA routes, they were actually used on a bunch of routes that required the range (like SEA-HKG), but an amusing number of routes that did not. I recall doing SYD-HNL in one (in the days when UA still did that route), and thinking if HNL weather was bad, we could divert to AMS

Also did SEA-JFK in an SP in about 1998
