The SPs were flown from SFO-SEL (route that could never really support a full-size 747 for UAL) and JFK-NRT (route that required the performance and range of the SP), amonth the other handful of routes.

There are plenty of UA-47'SP pictures @ Kai Tak, so I'm assuming there was significant service there.

I remember my SP experience with United when I was 9 years old in 1991: aircraft had a great rate of climb... unfortunately on the way from SFO-SEL (continuing on to MNL), one of the pax behind us had a heart attack, and was pronounced dead.

Strange experience. But awesome airplane.

When did UA have MNL service - and they cut it off when??
