Under Mileage Plus sub-heading, item #2: "I'm a Mileage Plus member with premium status ...". Apparently up to 8 companions on the same PNR as the premium status Mileage Plus member will be exempt from first and second bag fee.

What gives?

i dunno either but if you could find the "elite member" vs 1k & gs equivalent of this.......
