Lattitude fares to Asia onward destinations skyrocket
Up until the recent "simplification" of airfares to Asia, one was able to buy a Lattitude ticket to destinations such as SIN, BKK, SGN for ~$2,300 plus taxes. All were considerably cheaper than flying to NRT or HKG even though there was the additional flight on a partner carrier.
I just had a look for a trip I'm considering in early 2009 and Lattitude Plus fares from YYZ are now $1,895 each way ($3,790 return). Checked various dates and this appears to be the new standard. Rather than being considerably cheaper, these destinations now cost slightly more than the cost of a trip to HKG in L+.
Grrr.
