Up until about 4 years ago, there was some competition at TPA. Alamo used to offer off site parking, and after they moved, another outfit took over, but they eventually sold out, and the property was then cleared and is not used now.

I had thought about using Payless, or A-1 for a recent trip, but given the ratty condition of their properties, and the fact that they don't save you very much, I opted for the Economy Garage instead, even though I don't consider $9.00/day - covered or not, economy. But then it is dirt cheap compared with some other airports.

Supershuttle is my preferred method of getting to the airport from Pinellas County if I'm going to be gone longer than 5 or six days. Other than that, I will take the Economy Garage. It is covered parking, and if you forget where you parked, the staff will look your car up and tell you where it is.

In 6 months, I'm moving to Manatee County, so SRQ will be my new home airport, unless I get a much better fare at TPA in which case I will have Supershuttle pick me up at work in St Pete.
