Nope, just call and ask. And just curious why you don't want to split the PNR? If Jr is a young child you could remain on the PNR with him and split off your wife to secure the upgrade now for her..and then you and he will remain on the PA waitlist together. At least you could get one of the upgrade seats out of the way now improving your chances later on that all will clear.
