I'm a platinum level Marriott member, and I'm burning points and taking my gf to St Thomas for a week. We're staying at the Marriott's Frenchman's Reef. Are there any strategies for getting a room upgrade? What are the chances of getting one automatically? Other plats out there, do you contact the manager before you arrive? Thanks!

Also, anyone have any feedback on this place? I hear the staff is rude, but the grounds are beautiful. I can handle that :-)
