i moved to LAS about 14 years ago and lived there for about 2 years. still go several times a year. it was a different game then than it is now. even so, i still find it interesting and appealing. you learn so much more about the place when you're not a tourist and don't spend all your time on the strip.

my friends totally dig when i take them to off-strip places and that's a regular part of every trip now. they all want to visit interesting, off teh strip places with nice people working in the casinos.

also, keep in mind that there's no state income tax so, depending on where you come from, it might be an even bigger increase in take-home income.

and electricity was pretty cheap from what i recall!
