Turkey is a terrific place to have a Ramadan (Ramazan in Turkey) experience. A secular government insures that you have access to food and beverages all day. There is a huge celebration every night at the Hippodrome beside the Blue Mosque. Turkish hospitality is famous, and even more so during Ramazan. Only down-sides: You may only be offered a glass of tea ten times a day rather than fifteen. If you go to Istanbul for the party scene, many clubs close for cleaning or renovation during Ramazan and the alcohol may not flow as freely in some restaurants as it normally does.
