I'd take ATL over any CVG connection involving Comair, even if it means increased time in the air. If your inbound into CVG is more than 15 minutes late to the gate, which is absolutely routine there, you're sunk.
I have been told by a FA based at CVG that CRJ flights will wait (a reasonable amount of time) for passangers if its the last flight out that night. Connection times are far shorter in CVG, even if changing concourses, than in ATL.
All things being equal, I would go CVG.
