I've ordered vegetarian in WT, WT+, CW, and F on BA. And unless something has changed, there is still no "vegan" option available. VS does have a strict vegan option, and it's very good in J. We're flying on Air New Zealand in business premier in a few months, and they have a full vegan option too.
BA needs to get with the program here. Eggs and honey are as much a problem for me as steak and fish.
I've had a vegan on BA, by mistake when the person booking the tickets used VGML instead of VLML which wan't bad but that was in Y so would have been stuck without it. I had an AVML also booked once or twice but not being a fan of a fan of spicy food, swapped for someone elses salad.
Weirdly on VS when I tried them years ago they wouldn't let you book a VLML but they did them as an standard option onboard. Yet despite asking (because I was at the back) if they could make sure that I got one, they had run out before reaching me. Now they will let you book I believe.
I've also had the miles first email/call later scenario, didn't bother me much which way round they did it, so long as someone had taken an interest.
