This exchange must have been extremely frustrating for your sister. Clearly, it pays to know your options! It would seem that AA is trying to keep from rebooking pax on other airlines as much as possible, and exploits the fact that most travelers have little or no understanding of the CRS. Kudos to you and your sister for taking the AAgent to task!
