I don't understand, why don't you resign effective immediately and end your potential liability? It might be possible to establish that an abstention was part of a deliberate calculation to achieve a no (or yes) vote and thereby still be discriminatory. No matter the strength of the cause of action, it will still cost you thousands of dollars to defend and as you said,
