Who else is going to get the upgrade space ahead of the OP? Someone who purchased a paid business class fare? An H or higher fare and used miles? Redeemed a Standard award (no C Saver to BKK on UA metal)? One might argue that those are preferred situations for UA at this moment?

The competition for SWU upgrade space beyond 1/31/09 is somewhat lessened (someone who made MM and got three SWU's, an odd deposit situation, 150K, etc.) so I wouldn't fret too much. Just stay alert to the early deposit SWU offer as it seems like there will be more people at 1K earlier owing to the DEQM offer, and then jump on the upgrades. My early deposit SWUs hit my account on 10/5/07 last year.

I agree it would be nice if we were given the early deposit option as soon as we (re-) qualified as 1K, but at least UA responded to our requests on this subject a few years ago by allowing the early deposit option. Previously we had to wait until 1/1/xx to request SWU upgrades.

What is the current "I" inventory for NRT-BKK and BKK-NRT for your travel dates?
