Thanks, this is so unbelievably dumb and a WASTE of fuel because they will essentially be carrying MORE weight from bags than before in just about every case.

My dive bags weigh probably 12-15 pounds empty, so a second bad with the 10 pounds of stuff that won't fit into my main bag will now way 22-25 pounds, dumb dumb dumb. My guess is very few people were actually traveling with 3 32kg bags, but I bet many folks had 1 25-32kg bag that will now weigh much more than 32kg given the stuff still exists and the weight of the extra bag has to be added.

I did notice in one of those threads mentioned that tickets issued before the April 1 change got the old limit, my ticket was issued Mar 18 so I may be OK so as long as the agents know we are supposed to be grandfathered into the old policy. Has anyone had any recent experiences with this?
