My experience mirrors the Big Guy. When I need it the most, they argue and lie the most. Honestly, status means absolutely nothing here concerning whether you can get it, its the attitude of the property. IMO, its another on of those ancillary benefits like cash checking that is dictated down by MI but a pain for the property to provide so compliance swings wildly.
I read about others having no problem but its always an issue for me.
And here's why status means nothing, often I travel weekends for my son's hockey and usually final games are played 11 am - noonish on Sunday. So everyone (meaning twice a year hotel stayers) is asking for a late checkout and the property will flatly ban it, which I understand. Then I remind them of my PLT status and I get a song and dance how if I get it, they'll have to give it to everyone.
