The most consistent problem I find is the lack of any sound proofing between rooms with connecting doors. I don't understand why Marriott doesn't put insulation around the doors since it seems relatively simple to do. I've only seen one hotel that had insulating strips between the connecting doors.
I always ask for a room with no connecting doors, but it seems that the majority of rooms in many hotels have connecting doors.
