This is my number one complaint about any hotel, and I've experienced it all the way from the Fairfield Inn to the Ritz-Carlton. If a hotel would spend the extra money to actually soundproof their rooms, I WOULD spend more money to stay there. I mean, come on--how expensive can it be to purchase door closers that don't SLAM the doors to close them? How expensive can it be to actually seal the little gap around the door to adjoining rooms? Even at airport hotels that have done an amazing job with soundproofing the exterior walls, the noise from the hallways and other rooms comes through loud and clear.
