With Starwood and Hilton H they at least try to make you feel special.
I had a funny experience at the Radisson Oslo Plaza similar to yours; I asked very politely if they had any available upgrades for EBGs and before I was able to show my card she asked me to elaborate om what kind of employee discount I was talking about. Cute.
