Hi, I'm new here but I'm wondering if this might be what they were talking about?
Upgrade Priority
1. The time stamp is the time you requested the upgrade. Even if you don't clear before you get to the airport, when you are activated on the airport standby list, the system picks up the time stamp from when you first requested the upgrade.
2. Elite status has no bearing on the rankings in the "full fare" category (Y and B fares)........only the 'time stamp of the original upgrade request' determines the ranking. In other words, a FO (Silver Medallion) on a Y fare who requests an upgrade earlier than a PM on a Y fare will be higher on the upgrade list. For "discount fares", which is everything else besides domestic Y & B passengers are ranked solely by Medallion status.
3. On Y and B complimetary Medallion upgrades, B class of service is treated the same as the lower classes of service, with upgrades given in priority of Medallion status. Tickets booked in Y are confirmed with the complimentary upgrade at the time of booking as long as V/X inventory is available.

However, I have a question of my own regarding the timestamp. I thought Medallion customers have their upgrades automatically requested when they book their tickets? Is that not true?
