A friend traveling with me (on the same itinerary) recently moved up from Gold to Platinum. At time of ticketing the level was Gold. My level Platinum.

CO.com on line check in properly shows the companion's boarding pass as "Platinum/ST2", however when reprinting the boarding pass at the kiosk when checking bags the boarding pass shows "Platinum/ST1".

How can that be? Does the kiosk handle SkyTeam Elite status differently than kiosk check in - such that the kiosk still uses the CO Elite level at ticket purchase time - not the latest.

Note that the status was reentered - hence the companion's boarding pass showed "Platinum/ST1" from the kiosk printed boarding pass?????
