They actually experimented with selling food (prepackaged salads and sandwiches) about three or four years ago in selected rooms. I guess it didn't work out.

One thing that bugged me during that experiment was that they limited the time that the food could be sold. On a couple of occasions when I had a severly delayed flight and actually wanted to buy the food, the response was "it has already been put up, sir."
