Today I needed to book a flight and the website was showing that the flight was sold out - that is, "unavailable" in all fare classes. I called reservations and was able to book it with a discounted 7-day advance purchase fare.
I know "web only" fares are available only online and not by phone, but I've never seen the reverse like this.
Is it possible reservations placed you on an overbooked flight, something that cannot be done thru the website?.
