My wife's usually the one with the checkbook when we travel. Never had a problem in the past with her cashing checks in her name up to my elite-level limit, at domestic or int'l properties (Canada).

That is until we attempted to do so at the Renaissance Makati. Front desk agent said, after consulting with her director, that only the elite (PLT) member can avail of the benefit.

Wasn't a big deal since the ATM was in the shopping center across the street.

Could it have been a case that we were just lucky in the past and this property chose to go by the book in this case, or do I chalk this one up to it being an overseas property's policy?
