Amazing - I had the impression that AMEX will waive just about any fee, except for the Platinum charge card. I've downgraded from that to Gold, and the £95 fee was waived straight away. Not a bad deal in this way as I got the discount to £30 for the BA AMEX (but that may disappear on next renewal). For me the Platinum card wasn't worth £300, but I would happily pay £95
